A wonderful start to the day...
During my morning walk, I saw a Turkey Vulture, six deer and a Great Blue Heron. Nature never ceases to amaze. Enjoy the last days of September!

Welcome Autumn!!!
Sunday morning - Austin, Texas - 21 September 2008
This past week there has been a fleeting and most welcome cool, crispness to the air in the mornings. It won't last but they bring hints of what the next few months have to offer. We enjoyed a scrumptious meal last night of Braised Beef Short Ribs, I discovered the recipe here. Happy birthday wishes for Zack, hope the celebrations are brilliant! The annual dedication ceremony took place yesterday at the Arboretum on the University of Guelph campus. We had a tree planted in memory of Grandpa (Mom's Dad), it is something he would have liked. Thoughts of Grandpa take me back to time spent at the farm and in the sugar bush making maple syrup, I loved the way his face would light up when he smiled, such treasured memories. Wishing each of you a magical start to Autumn.

The above image wasn't exactly what I was hoping to capture but it works. Using the self timer on the camera and a tall stool this is the result. I know, a tripod would make things easier, but my version was certainly entertaining.

I have the fabric cut out for two more messenger bags, they haven't been requested by anyone in particular, I just thought the fabrics might look good together. Both will have a solid colour exterior with a patterned fabric interior. If they turn out I will have photos to share next week.
I know I promised to have something other than my sewing project images to share, I am still working on that, please be patient.

Experimental messenger bag - Austin, Texas - Summer 2008
The it all began with the bag featured above. I have taken it apart three times, working on different aspects of it to get things just right. It has been a learning process and I continue to gain more insight with each bag I put together. Hope you aren't getting too bored with all the bag photos, I hope to have a few different shots uploaded soon. Wishing each of you a marvelous first week of September!
