Recent Sewing Project

Pincushions - Ausitn, TX - February 2009

Pricking my fingers and having to pick up stray straight pins one too many times, inspired me to make these pincushions. Using a pattern found in Last Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts, I made use of fabrics leftover from other projects. The blue pincushion is made from an old shirt I took apart; I even made use of the buttons.

a new sun hat

Using a pattern from Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing I combined linen for the exterior and a cotton/bamboo material for the lining to make a new sun hat. It was a fun project.

Pillow covers with initials and envelope closures - January 2009

Above are images of a project I put together for a friend's family. I combined blue corduroy fabric and natural linen for initials to create pillow covers for each of them. All four members celebrate their birthdays during the month of February, a fun filled month for sure. Wishing each of them a wonder filled year!
