I just love the play of shadows on the snow. This was taken while on a walk with my sister while I was home in March, we had a wonderful day together. Been reminiscing a great deal as of late, the lead up to Christmas always seems to do that. It brings to mind thoughts of Dad and Grandpa, they both so enjoyed the holidays. Enjoy the journey.

purchased art

Recently I acquired some artwork by a UK based artist by the name of Natalie Abadzis. I have admired her work for some time and am truly honoured to now own a couple of her works. They were part of a small art collection called Come Darkness. They arrived in the post over the weekend and they are even more lovely in person, Jasmine On White Tricycle and Trellovouno , both are gorgeous pieces.

As most of you have probably noticed, I tend not to take many photographs of people, especially of strangers. The main reason being that I don't want to intrude on another person's privacy. The image above was one of those rare moments when I couldn't help myself, I saw the red scarf and shoes, against this beautiful building in Vienna and captured the image before I could change my mind. Each and every time I look at this image it brings a smile, it was another one of our wonderful visits to Vienna and so many treasured memories wash over me, transporting me back...

Purple is a Favourite Colour of Mine

Greetings! I finished the purple lovelies (above) at the start of the week, quite pleased with how they turned out, very satisfying. We had a few snowflakes fall here in Austin this afternoon, such a pretty sight. Of course it didn't amount to much, accumulation wise and the sun has been shining all afternoon. It has been a cold week here, toque weather on a couple of occasions actually, but it won't last.

It has been a good food week. We enjoyed a roasted broccoli soup, an apple crisp (made over the weekend), gingerbread cookies (thanks for the recipe Em) and candied gingered scones freshly baked this morning, delicious. The cauliflower gratin Emily made last evening sounds tasty, I may have to try that recipe over the weekend.

Over the past couple of months, I have been enjoying my visits to a local organic farm, so many wonderful vegetables, fruits and lovely eggs. You can learn more about Boggy Creek Farm at their website. I always enjoy checking in with the chickens after I have made my purchases, they never cease to amuse.
