A Glimpse
A quilt for Scott. I am currently hand stitching the binding on to it. It is another Little Bits Quilt, the first one I made can be seen here. Quilt front is navy blue with a single pieced strip consisting of the navy blue and six shades of purple. The quilt back is purple. This is the first quilt that I had machine quilted by someone else. I was able to find a local shop to do the work, Legacy Longarm Quilters, they offer classes, rentals and an array of quilting services. The quilting turned out so well and once I have the binding attached I will post some more images. The quality of the above images isn't great, they were taken with the camera on my cell phone. Enjoy the journey.

Castle Peeps Small Quilt - May 2011
Finished hand stitching the binding on the quilt this afternoon. This patchwork quilt is so colourful and cheerful. Castle Peeps refers to the name of the collection of fabrics used, designed by Lizzy House.
I wanted to share a recipe for a homemade sports drink that is very easy to make and quite tasty. The recipe is adapted from the June 2011 issue of Yoga Journal magazine.
Homemade Sports Drink
1/2 teaspoon honey or agave nectar
1 cup hot water
Juice from a quarter of a lemon (I used half a lemon)
Pinch of salt
Combine ingredients, stir and chill the drink in the refrigerator to enjoy later. Drink during or after exercise.
*Amounts are easily increased.
*I added a sprig of fresh mint to mine.
Enjoy the journey and happy weekend.

Wildflower
The things said and the things not said. In the space in between, a thousand worlds. A thousand worlds.

This image is a more accurate view of one of the garden beds in the back yard. It is a jumble of flowers and vegetables, not sure about thinning, just wanting something to grow here. Will till everything into the soil later in the year. We simply broad cast seeded, no rows or real organization. We like it.
