Reflection in Autumn - Austin, Texas -September 2009

Been thinking a great deal as of late, which might help to explain my absence here. My Uncle Jim passed away last week, my Dad's older brother (the middle child). It stirred up memories of Dad and I found myself in a reflective mood. I did a great deal of reading last week, finished a couple of knitting projects and enjoyed many walks in the cooler Autumn temperatures. Here's to a week of wonder. Enjoy the journey.

Next step will be to get a few of the negatives printed, maybe the first three in the left hand column and the image in the bottom right.
Enjoy the journey.

Another quilt completed. The pattern I used is referred to as a stacked coins quilt, there are many variations but I used the one found in the book, Last-Minute Patchwork & Quilted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson. It was quilted in a diamond pattern of intersecting diagonal lines approximately 10 cm apart. Finished measurements are approximately 178cm by 126cm. I must confess this was not an easy project to photograph.
I trust all is well in your corner of the planet.
Enjoy the journey.

**P.S. Thanks so much for the wonderful comments, your encouragement means the world to me and always warms my heart and brings a smile. Love to each of you!!!

A Seasonal Messenger Bag

Wool exterior messenger bag - Austin, Texas - 1 October 2009

This one is a bit different, using wool for the exterior. I made use of buttons for the first time, one merely decorative, the other functional.
Wow, just realised this is post number 475!!!

Glorious rain - Austin, Texas - 22 September 2009

A good soaking rain began last night, along with sporadic thunder, all thanks to a cold front that moved into the area. Any rain is welcome. Enjoy the start of this season of harvest!
Happy birthday wishes going out to our nephew Zack, hard to believe you are sixteen today!!!!
