Quilt Complete

Finished hand stitching the binding onto the quilt featured in the above images.  It always feels so good to finish up a project.  The raised beds are all in and have transplants or seeds in them. Will share images very soon. Wishing each of you a wonderfully magical weekend. Enjoy the journey.

Quilting Results

A long arm quilting session was completed yesterday in just under three hours. I used orange thread and a meandering pattern. I really enjoyed the process and with practice will be able to tackle more complicated patterns. Now to attach the binding. Enjoy the journey.

Recent Discoveries

My brother sent me some photos he recently scanned and I found a couple of me he took when I was a wee mite. I thought I would share them with you.  Another image he included was taken by my cousin this past November of me and my Auntie Evelyn who recently passed away. I have fond memories of that day; I was in Canada at the time. I surprised them both by travelling up to see them at a craft show in Bruce Mines, where Auntie Evelyn was selling her gorgeous hand knit creations. It was a good day.  I am going to miss that lady.
Enjoy the journey.

Back In Time

My brother took this image in 1981 and recently sent me a digital version of it. It certainly brings to mind many memories of times spent on the farm with my twin sister and our cousins. Amazing how a photograph can transport us away in an instant. Enjoy the journey.

Loss

A path near the river - Georgetown, TX - January 2012

We received some heart breaking news this week, a dear Aunt died unexpectedly while she was in Virginia visiting family. Auntie Evelyn was an amazing lady, even at eighty-two no one was prepared to hear that she had died.  I am going to miss her.

Almost A Month Away and Loss

Been away for most of the month, arrived back in Texas late last night. Earlier in the month we attended a gathering of family and friends, to honour the memory a wonderful lady, my Gram. She was an amazing person and grandmother and I loved her very much, I am going to miss her terribly.
While up North, I was able to spend a bit of time with family, a visit was long over due and I squeezed in a couple of too brief visits with dear friends. Thanks for all the love, support and good thoughts sent our way, it means the world to us. The image above was taken while out on a solo hike one afternoon this month during a visit with Mom in Northern Ontario. Remember, enjoy the journey and let those you care about know it.
