Summer Time
Greetings, it has been a while. Summer is upon us. We had one peony bloom this season, it paired beautifully with my otchipotchi vase (Paula is such a talent, http://otchipotchi.com/about). Generous family members have shared transplants from their gardens and all seem to be adjusting well to their new garden homes. Have had numerous visits with family and friends these past several weeks and celebrated my fortieth birthday. Still wrapping my brain around that one. So this past Friday was the big day and because I am back in Canada and my sister's sweetie was throwing her a surprise party, I was able to attend. It was the first time in probably ten years since my twin sister and I have been able to celebrate our birthday together in person, it was wonderful. Coming across a turtle last week was a treat, found it near my in laws home while returning from a day spent with my dear sister in law and niece.
More soon.
Take care.
Enjoy the journey.

Amaryllis About To Bloom
The bulb was forced inside for Christmas two years ago and then planted in the back yard garden. Wasn't sure if it would ever bloom again. Can't wait to see its beauty. My someone special celebrated a birthday this week, so grateful to have him in my life. All the birthday wishes were greatly appreciated.
Hope all is well in your corner of the planet. Remember to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Enjoy the journey.

Spring!
More Blue Bonnets, the trees are all greening up and the sweet pepper and tomato plants have been planted. Spring is certainly making itself known. Hope all is well in your corner of the planet. Enjoy the journey.

A Beauty
A Rose - Georgetown, Texas - 30 September 2010
We have three rose bushes waiting to be planted. The bed has been tilled and weeded, just need some bone meal, soil amendment and mulch. Hoping to plant these beauties over the weekend. Enjoy the journey.

*Update: The roses have been planted and seem to be adjusting well. Let us hope the deer or other animals don't make short work of them before they can thrive.

This image is a more accurate view of one of the garden beds in the back yard. It is a jumble of flowers and vegetables, not sure about thinning, just wanting something to grow here. Will till everything into the soil later in the year. We simply broad cast seeded, no rows or real organization. We like it.
