Slow Roasting Hot Peppers
Harvested this fall and air dried on the uprooted plants for the past two months. Once completely dry will run them through the blender and use in chili and other dishes, they same way you would crushed red pepper flakes. Hope your weekend is wonderful. Looking forward to the return of my sweetie very late this evening.
Enjoy the journey.

Lavender Garden
Planted this morning and well watered. All that is left is to redistribute the rocks. Hope all is well in your corner of the planet. Enjoy the journey.

Progress
The first image is of a new garden bed I have been working on. Finally removed all the large rocks and have been slowly amending the soil with home made compost from our bins, as well as purchased garden soil, organic turkey compost and cotton burr mulch (the later two will be added tomorrow). The new bed is for three lavender plants that have out grown the raised bed we planted them in this spring. I am hoping to transplant them tomorrow. As you may have noticed in the image I managed to destroy the tip of the shovel with all the rock harvesting, howeverI did move that large rock (the shovel gives you an idea of size) all by myself. I can be a tad stubborn at times.
The second image of of the carved pumpkin I did for Halloween this year, I forgot to post it earlier. Great news, our dear friend made it safely to Okinawa and is slowly settling into her new surroundings. I am looking forward to hearing more about her adventures. Take care of each other and enjoy the journey.

Drying
Just back from Fort Worth, Texas, north of here. An impromptu weekend getaway with my sweetie. The image above shows one of four hot pepper plants we have drying in the shed. Hope the weekend was relaxing and fun for everyone. Enjoy the journey.

Cold Season Garden Vegetables
A vegetable update is in order. Some of the veggies started from seed are doing well. Planted four kale plants, a mustard green plant and leeks this week. We are using the tomato cages to deter critters from digging in the raised beds, so far so good. How are things in your corner of the planet? Enjoy the journey.
P.S. A dear friend is travelling to Okinawa, Japan today, she should arrive tomorrow evening sometime (our time). Wishing her safe travels.

Radish Sprouts
Hello there! All of the seeds planted last week have sprouted and we have tomatoes ripening on the vines. Only a few tomatoes really but they will be delicious. I trust these first days of Autumn are treating you well. Progress is being made on a couple of knitting projects, will share images soon. Enjoy the journey.

Tomato Plant In Morning Light
We have pruned back all the tomato plants in hopes of another harvest. Fingers crossed. Pulled out the cucumber and cantaloupe vines, moved some sweet pepper plants and planted squash seeds, which have all sprouted. We shall see how everything deals with the heat of August.
Enjoy the journey.
Enjoy the journey.
