At the train station before they headed back to Toronto.
Jason and I first met at
Bark Lake (a summer camp) 24 years ago in August. We learned to sail together, one of the many experiences we shared during those two weeks. Mailing addresses were exchanged on the last day of camp and we each promised to write. Well, in this case we did just that, for the next 24 years. Of course there were years when only one letter was exchanged, birthday and Christmas cards were frequently sent as well, but it was the letter writing that stuck. In the Spring of this year, it was mentioned that maybe after all this time we should have a face to face visit. So, with a bit of planning it was arranged for Jason and his lovely wife, Marcia, to visit us here in Calabogie. They stayed the night with us and we spent the two days chatting up a storm and thoroughly enjoying each other's company. Good people are a treasure, Jason and Marcia are a terrific couple, both have such kind and generous souls. It was a real gift having them visit, finally meeting Marcia and feeling as though we have always been friends, and realizing even after all these years of letter writing there is still so much to learn and cherish about my dear friend, Jason. We have exchanged a couple of letters since the visit and I look forward to finding his next letter in the mailbox. Not sure when but another visit will happen.

Jason and Marcia, such a wonderful couple.
