Well Into Spring!
So things are a little different everywhere these days and certainly have been for weeks now. I trust this finds each of you healthy and sane. I have been able to finish several crafting projects and have read a few books, which is always gratifying. My days begin with a walk around our neighbourhood, which is a habit that had ebbed a bit this Winter. I have rediscovered how truly wonderfully invigorating and mind clearing it is, a great way to begin any day. Take care of yourself and loved ones, remember the importance of being kind and generous. Be well and enjoy this continually changing journey we are all on. ox

Our Tiberius several days ago enjoying the morning sun.
A shawl I knit as a gift for a friend who generously sent me the yarn as a surprise.
A completed quilt front, part of a quilt that is a gift for my sweetheart (a long overdue project).

Never trust your fears. They don’t know your strength.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.

Trauma creates change you don’t choose. Healing is about creating change you do choose.

Be well, stay curious and look for the wonder every day.
Enjoy the journey.

A Turtle And So Many Blooms!
Such a beautiful time of year.
Amazing colours, fragrances, sights and sounds.
The gardens and wooded areas are full of wonder.
A turtle has laid her eggs in the backyard.
The Lightning Bugs have been on display in the evenings in the backyard woods, so spectacular.
The dragonflies have arrived, thankfully, since the mosquitoes are fierce again this year.
Wishing each of you curiosity, wonder and time to enjoy this journey. ox

Spring
Where does the time go these days?!
Spring has finally arrived and the plant life is obviously overjoyed with the prime growing conditions. So much leaf growth and blooms, a beautiful time of year. Tiberius is so loving spending time out in the screened porch. We noticed hummingbirds at the feeders last Tuesday and everyday since, they are so entertaining.
Hope all is well in your corner of the planet.
Be back soon, hopefully.
Enjoy the journey.

The following is a beautiful poem by Rainer Maria Rilke, a dear friend shared with me recently, thought you might enjoy it as well.
Why, if it’s possible
to spend our little
span of existence
as laurel
slightly darker
than all the other greens
with tiny waves
on each leaf’s rim
(like a wind’s smile)
-why then
still insist
on being human
and shrinking from fate
long for it too?...
Oh not because happiness
- that part of approaching ruin
that rushes ahead of it –
isn't real.
Not out of curiosity
not to exercise the heart
that would have been fine
in the laurel…
But just because to be here
means so much
and because
everything here
all this that’s disappearing
seems to need us
to concern us
in some strange way
we, who disappear
even faster!
It’s one time
for each thing
and only once
Once and no more.
And the same for us:
once.
Then never again.
But this once having been
even though only once
having been on earth
seems as though
it can’t be undone
And so we push ourselves
wanting to master it
wanting to hold it all
in our own two hands
in the overloaded gaze
and the dumbstruck heart.
to spend our little
span of existence
as laurel
slightly darker
than all the other greens
with tiny waves
on each leaf’s rim
(like a wind’s smile)
-why then
still insist
on being human
and shrinking from fate
long for it too?...
Oh not because happiness
- that part of approaching ruin
that rushes ahead of it –
isn't real.
Not out of curiosity
not to exercise the heart
that would have been fine
in the laurel…
But just because to be here
means so much
and because
everything here
all this that’s disappearing
seems to need us
to concern us
in some strange way
we, who disappear

It’s one time

Once and no more.
And the same for us:

Then never again.
But this once having been

And so we push ourselves
