Progress

The first image is of a new garden bed I have been working on. Finally removed all the large rocks and have been slowly amending the soil with home made compost from our bins, as well as purchased garden soil, organic turkey compost and cotton burr mulch (the later two will be added tomorrow).  The new bed is for three lavender plants that have out grown the raised bed we planted them in this spring.  I am hoping to transplant them tomorrow.  As you may have noticed in the image I managed to destroy the tip of the shovel with all the rock harvesting, howeverI did move that large rock (the shovel gives you an idea of size) all by myself.  I can be a tad stubborn at times.
The second image of of the carved pumpkin I did for Halloween this year, I forgot to post it earlier.  Great news, our dear friend made it safely to Okinawa and is slowly settling into her new surroundings. I am looking forward to hearing more about her adventures. Take care of each other and enjoy the journey.

Drying

Just back from Fort Worth, Texas, north of here. An impromptu weekend getaway with my sweetie. The image above shows one of four hot pepper plants we have drying in the shed. Hope the weekend was relaxing and fun for everyone. Enjoy the journey.

Cold Season Garden Vegetables

A vegetable update is in order.  Some of the veggies started from seed are doing well. Planted four kale plants, a mustard green plant and leeks this week. We are using the tomato cages to deter critters from digging in the raised beds, so far so good. How are things in your corner of the planet? Enjoy the journey.

P.S. A dear friend is travelling to Okinawa, Japan today, she should arrive tomorrow evening sometime (our time). Wishing her safe travels.
