Spring
Where does the time go these days?!
Spring has finally arrived and the plant life is obviously overjoyed with the prime growing conditions. So much leaf growth and blooms, a beautiful time of year. Tiberius is so loving spending time out in the screened porch. We noticed hummingbirds at the feeders last Tuesday and everyday since, they are so entertaining.
Hope all is well in your corner of the planet.
Be back soon, hopefully.
Enjoy the journey.

Greetings!
It has been a snow filled Winter so far.
Have we mentioned Tiberius loves eating snow? Interesting since he loves being warm.
Hope this finds each of you doing very well, staying healthy and full of joy and gratitude.
Take care of each other and enjoy the journey. xo

The following is a beautiful poem by Rainer Maria Rilke, a dear friend shared with me recently, thought you might enjoy it as well.
Why, if it’s possible
to spend our little
span of existence
as laurel
slightly darker
than all the other greens
with tiny waves
on each leaf’s rim
(like a wind’s smile)
-why then
still insist
on being human
and shrinking from fate
long for it too?...
Oh not because happiness
- that part of approaching ruin
that rushes ahead of it –
isn't real.
Not out of curiosity
not to exercise the heart
that would have been fine
in the laurel…
But just because to be here
means so much
and because
everything here
all this that’s disappearing
seems to need us
to concern us
in some strange way
we, who disappear
even faster!
It’s one time
for each thing
and only once
Once and no more.
And the same for us:
once.
Then never again.
But this once having been
even though only once
having been on earth
seems as though
it can’t be undone
And so we push ourselves
wanting to master it
wanting to hold it all
in our own two hands
in the overloaded gaze
and the dumbstruck heart.
to spend our little
span of existence
as laurel
slightly darker
than all the other greens
with tiny waves
on each leaf’s rim
(like a wind’s smile)
-why then
still insist
on being human
and shrinking from fate
long for it too?...
Oh not because happiness
- that part of approaching ruin
that rushes ahead of it –
isn't real.
Not out of curiosity
not to exercise the heart
that would have been fine
in the laurel…
But just because to be here
means so much
and because
everything here
all this that’s disappearing
seems to need us
to concern us
in some strange way
we, who disappear
even faster!
It’s one time

Once and no more.
And the same for us:

Then never again.
But this once having been
even though only once

And so we push ourselves

Happy September!
In Bloom - Summer 2017
An image of a Hollyhock taken this Summer, it was blooming in a neighbor's garden. This flower will always remind of my Gran, they grew along the fence at my Grandparents' home while I was growing up. Not sure why I have been remiss about posting on the blog, I trust this finds each of you doing well. Raining here today, everything is super green and quite lush. Been working on a couple of commissioned pieces, one is a hand knit shawl and the other is a hand quilted wall hanging. Both projects have been tremendously interesting and most enjoyable. Will share images of the completed pieces soon!
So much is happening in this crazy world of ours, not sure what to think about some of it, other bits bring me hope, so I focus on that.
Enjoy this journey.
